Ku-ring-gai Chase NP
Cowan to Brooklyn via Peak Hill & Sandy Bay: Cowan – Jerusalem Bay – Porto Ridge – Peak Hill – Porto Ridge – Brooklyn
Our walk will commence from Cowan Station and follow the Great North Walk through to the start of Porto Ridge where we will head off-track to the summit of Peak Hill. From here we will descend to an unnamed ridge before working our way through a broken cliff line to Sandy Bay and then into Brooklyn via an old track. A good opportunity to gain experience in off-track walking and navigation. Off-track sections and scrambling required (tape will be available for support of required) however a rewarding walk. Public transport at both ends. Map: Cowan 1:25,000
All participants must be up-to-date with vaccinations (at least 3 jabs) / no medical exemptions allowed.

Note – there are multiple options to descend from Peak Hill to Sandy Bay and it is recommended to avoid the prominent creek line starting from NE side of Peak Hill. This descent may encounter broken cliff lines and it is strongly recommended to carry a tape to assist walkers during the descent if required. Walkers are recommended to wear protective (gardening) gloves and eyewear when walking off-track sections.
