Lane Cove National Park and Berowra Valley RP
Epping to Hornsby: A nice walk along the Lane Cove River and Berowra Creek following the Great North Walk for most of the length. Option to leave walk at Thornleigh Station. Mostly bush track with a little residential road walking at each end and minor creek crossings. This route bypasses the Berowra Creek crossing towards Fishponds, which can be slippery and difficult after heavy rains. As an alternative, from just north of Westleigh it follows along the Blue Gum Track, Ginger Megs Trail and a short walk along residential streets that will bring you to the base of the Depressions Steps (aka Hornsby Heritage Stairs). If the creek is low you continue on the Great North Walk following the signs to Hornsby station. Public transport at both ends. Map: Hornsby & Parramatta River 1:25,000
