Description:

This walk was led by Bob Seibright.

This is a beautiful walk through rainforest paths following creeks, visiting the stunning Numantia Falls, an Art cave, aboriginal rock engravings, fungi, and yabbies! Some rough track and easy scrambling.

From Faulconbridge Station there is a short walk to the start of the Victory Track. After following the Victory track you branch off to follow a track along Numantia Creek to reach the Falls, which is a beautiful morning tea stop. It then follows a foot pad up to the Sassafras Ridge, via a visit to the `art cave’. Further up on the ridge there is a short in and out to where an aboriginal carving of a wallaby can be found, if you’re lucky enough to spot it. From the ridge the route drops down a foot pad to the Sassafras Creek and to rejoin the Victory Track. From there it follows the track down to the Glenbrook Creek, where there is a nice lunch and swimming spot before backtracking along the Victory Track to take the Wiggins Track back up to Springwood. There is about 1.5km of street walking to reach the train station.
