The walk begins and ends at Helensburgh Station and follows a variety of tracks to the Coast Track and out to Semi-Detached Point.
After enjoying the views, possibly sighting whales and checking out the Beach Huts you return along a couple of alternative tracks to Helensburgh. This is a walk with lots of variety and great coastal views. It requires crossing the Hacking River on the way out and return (at the same point), which may require `’shoes off’ and wading depending on the water flow. Please note, especially heavy rain may make the crossing impassable. There is one short off-track section on the return to Helensburgh, but there is a foot pad and it rejoins a clear track at the top of the climb.
