The third walk in the Marie Byles Commemorative series of 7 day walks that start from Ahimsa, Cheltenham and finish in Bouddi NP (Marie Byles Lookout).
This walk takes you from Seaforth Oval, Bantry Reserve, Wildflower Walk, Heritage Walk to Dam Wall, Mermaid Pool, Nature Walk, Bantry Bay, Burnt Bridge Creek walkway, streets to Graham St stairway, Clontarf Beach, to finish via the harbourside walk to Manly. Delightful wetlands, harbour views, plenty of heritage.
There are good break stops at the Manly Dam playground and the Clontarf Beach area.
This gpx file does not detour to look at Mermaid Pool as the creek was in flood, but there is an access path down to the pool from King St (after crossing footbridge over the creek from where you can view the waterfall).
As an alternative to walking the length of Kanangra Cres to join Heaton Ave, there is a walking track that runs parallel to Manly Rd that joins the start of Heaton Ave.
Note the detour for the Mitchell Walkway off Sandy Bay Rd Clontarf (entrance beside #4)
Map: Manly Dam Reserve, STEP (Middle Harbour Catchment Sheets 3 & 4).
Starting point the corner of Burnt St Wakehurst Parkway opposite Seaforth Oval.
