Description:

Narrabeen lagoon circuit walk with an addition to explore local bushland. Perfect sunny autumn day, good company and scenery. After walking the northern part of the track in an anticlockwise direction we climbed up to lookout behind the Narrabeen fitness centre for panoramic views. From there we followed that contour around passing through some nice bushland to reach the Aboriginal engravings at Cromer Heights. Although quite worn it was interesting to try to pick out what is still visible using a sketch from 1899 when they were first recorded. After lunch we returned to the lagoon circuit. Total distance 17km. Some of the group enjoyed refreshing drinks overlooking the lake. A nice way to round off a very pleasant day walk.
