Description:
Woronora River from Oatley to Sutherland.
From Oatley Station via Myles Dunphy Reserve – Como Bridge walkway – Como Pleasure Grounds – Paruna Reserve, Como West – Jannali – The Glen Reserve, Bonnet Bay – Burnum Burnum Sanctuary – Woronora road bridge – Prince Edward Park – ending at Sutherland Station. We will walk through attractive bushland reserves connected by a few local streets. Numerous superb views of Georges and Woronora Rivers.
We will inspect the site where Henry Lawson reputedly lived in a cottage for several years – the foundation stones of the cottage being all that remains. Nearby he would sit on a rock overlooking the Woronora River while writing poetry.
Morning tea and lunch overlooking the Woronora River. A final steep climb up to Prince Edward bushland reserve and another superb lookout of the river below before arriving at Sutherland.Â
